For the redesign of Jack Rabbit Beans, I worked with the Anthem team to develop a design system that was approachable with a hint of nostalgia. Drawing inspiration from their extensive brand heritage as the first brand of packaged beans, I wanted the design to be clean, straight-forward and let the product speak for itself. The package system gives a sense of familiarity and trust with its warm simplicity and understated design.
For International Delight’s holiday line of coffee creamers, the Anthem design team was tasked with updating the existing seasonal packaging. The client wanted a design that was festive and seasonal, without focusing on a specific holiday and could work in a variety of markets. My design direction featured a festive patterned tablecloth, red ribbon and seasonal icons added to their logo.
Thistle is a non-profit organization committed to providing affordable housing for working families, disabled and elderly residents in Boulder County. They work to ensure Boulder is an accessible place to live for all income levels.
When approaching their rebrand, I decided on a geometric Thistle icon paired with approachable typography. The five dots above the flower symbolize community and also represent their brand pillars.
Sir Bananas is a drink that combines milk and bananas in a fun and unexpected way. I was involved in this project from the start, exploring name options and design styles. Once the design direction was selected and the Sir Bananas character was brought to life by illustrator Brizida Ahrnsbrak, I created supporting illustrations for the different flavor profiles to better inform consumers on this new product. I also created additional illustrations for the rest of the package.
Twisted Pine Brewing Co.
Crafted in Boulder, Colorado, Twisted Pine experiments with new flavors throughout their wide variety of core and limited-release varieties. In keeping with the brand's off-the-wall style, I designed a number of limited release labels following their package system, incorporating playful typography, collaged illustration and quirky copywriting.
The Bolder Boulder is the 2nd largest 10K in the nation, drawing over 50,000 participants every year over Memorial Day weekend. The concept behind the 2016 race t-shirts was an integration of the American flag and the iconic Boulder flatirons. The illustration itself shows the flag in perspective with the upper stripes merging into the flatirons in the background, while the lower stripes merge into a road in the foreground.
Colorado-based Stonewear offers women’s athletic apparel for climbing, hiking, running, and yoga. For their Fall Preview guide, I was able to apply their newly re-designed brand assets to a catalog layout.
I was also involved in the photoshoot of lifestyle images featured in the layout, directing specific shots for the catalog. Recommendations were also made to style the model shots, focusing on natural postures and varied poses to highlight each garment.
I also worked on various print collateral pieces for this client.
Camber Outdoors, formerly OIWC, advocates for women's leadership in the outdoor industry by providing professional development programs and mentorship opportunities. I was involved with the naming process, brand strategy, development and building of brand assets.
Jacki + Ryan Wedding Invites
Jacki and Ryan's wedding invites were designed to fit their outdoorsy, adventurous lifestyle. For a rustic, farm wedding, I incorporated hand lettering and simple mountain illustrations on kraft paper. The overall invitation suite was tied together with teal baker's twine, printed envelope liners, custom postage stamps and washi tape accents.
Instead of printing wedding programs for the big day, I hand lettered a large chalkboard, carrying in elements of the invitation design.
Anthem Office Illustrations
I created a set of ink drawings based off of everyday items around the Anthem Branding office. These were digitally colored and shared as a series of illustrations on social media.
Cultivate provides premium, on-site gift experiences for companies that want to reward their top performing employees. When updating their brand, I wanted to create something premium and inviting. The icon represents a wrapped gift and the positive experience that Cultivate provides event planners and attendees. The new identity was applied to stationery systems, digital presentations, building signage, and a website.
Koko is a Japanese term meaning "here" – and combines the welcoming atmosphere of a local coffee shop with the convenience of carry-out. The owners drew from their extensive background in the restaurant industry to bring together this unique space to Taos, NM. The identity design features a geometric butterfly – a modern take on the traditional Japanese kamon, or family crest. The name Koko is also carefully incorporated into the custom pattern created for this project.
